St. Paul, MN (Sports Network) - Edmonton Oilers defenseman Taylor Fedun broke his right leg during Friday's preseason win over the Minnesota Wild. Fedun crashed into the end boards during the second period. Minnesota's Eric Nystrom, who was chasing close behind, reached around Fedun with his stick in an attempt to touch the puck and avoid an icing call. "It's a complex fracture," Oilers head coach Tom Renney said of the injury.

Foster will have a piece of wire extracted from his left thigh, part of a stabilizing mechanism to repair a gruesomely broken left leg back in March of 2008. It will be removed because of inflammation/irritation where it was placed. The 29-year-old posted eight goals and 22 points in 74 games with the Edmonton Oilers last season. He was dealt to Anaheim on July 1 for defenseman Andy Sutton.

Edmonton, AB (Sports Network) - The Edmonton Oilers announced on Friday that the club has agreed to terms on one-year contracts with defenseman Taylor Chorney and forward Ryan O'Marra. The 24-year-old Chorney totaled 22 points in 46 games with Edmonton's AHL affiliate in Oklahoma City, adding four points in 12 with the Oilers.
